Mogiv and Proclaim – Better Together

Written by Mogiv Team, Filed under Church Life, Communication, Uncategorized.

A quick glance at the “Recent Posts” column to the right makes one thing immediately obvious: we talk a lot about giving on this blog! And it’s not hard to figure out why. It’d be silly to call ourselves “Mogiv” if we weren’t passionate about mobile and online giving.

It also doesn’t hurt that we have so much to brag about! With Mogiv’s embedded giving forms, integrated mobile giving, and endless campaign options, we believe that we have created the most effective digital giving solution for the church and we want to shout about it from the rooftops!

BUT…we also understand that churches do not live on giving alone. There are dozens of tools and resources you require on Sunday mornings and throughout the week to make your church run. While we can’t provide all of these tools for you, we want to help direct you in the right direction whenever and wherever we can.

With that in mind, we want to let you know about a brand new integration we’ve just completed with Proclaim Church Presentation Software. (more…)

Decoding Facebook Profiles, Pages and Groups

When Facebook introduced Pages back in 2007, businesses jumped at the opportunity to engage with the tens of millions of users on the network to promote their goods and services. Creating a Page was free, easy, and organizations could suddenly reach people they would never have access to otherwise.

Churches soon followed suit, and realized that having a Facebook Page was a good way to attract potential visitors, share current series information, and more.

And, while Facebook is still a powerful tool used by many churches for the purposes described above, I’ve come across many who don’t understand the nuances of Pages versus Profiles versus Groups. So here’s a way to think about the three categories, and suggestions for how to use them.

The 5 Things Every Self-Respecting Church Giving Platform Should Include

Written by Mogiv Team, Filed under Online Giving, Uncategorized.

Let’s face it: you didn’t get into ministry because you loved talking about finances.

This is especially true when it comes to the ever-evolving world of online and mobile giving. You’ve probably heard that digital giving is something your church needs, but – with so many pressing concerns demanding your constant attention – when will you ever find the time to do the necessary research?

We get it. Giving technology is our passion, but it certainly isn’t (and shouldn’t be) yours!

So let’s cut out the clutter and focus on the basics. Let’s talk about The 5 Things Any Self-Respecting Church Giving Platform Should Include. Consider these your “online giving Spark Notes.” If your giving platform does a good job with these five things, you’ll already be head and shoulders above the rest.

1) Recurring Giving – This one comes up a lot, but with good reason. The ability to automate weekly and monthly donations is the #1 benefit online giving can provide your church. The easier and more flexible your platform makes this process, the better. (more…)

Inspired Mobility: Using Mobile Technology To Uplift and Inspire

Written by Mogiv Team, Filed under Mobile Giving, Uncategorized.

All press is good press, right?

While certain overworked celebrity publicists might disagree with the truth of that statement, it certainly holds true when “press” refers to inclusion in a national campaign highlighting the impact mobile technology can have on churches and other faith-based organizations! Which is exactly what happened to Mogiv earlier this month.

And it wasn’t even anything we did! The credit belongs entirely to our friends at Concord Church in Dallas, TX.

Concord Church has done such a great job of leveraging mobile technology at their church that they were recently featured in a campaign by a company that knows a thing or two about mobile technology: AT&T. Per AT&T’s website, their “Inspired Mobility” campaign is meant to start “a national conversation about the cultural shift in how people use mobile and Internet technology to enhance their faith experience.” It doesn’t take long to see why Concord Church was selected as the subject of the campaign. The Power Of Scheduled Giving: Turn Your “Tippers” Into Regular Givers

Written by Mogiv Team, Filed under Online Giving, Uncategorized.

We called them “tippers” at my church. Whatever name they go by at your church, you’ll know right away who I’m talking about.

“Tippers” are among the most consistent givers at any church. Ironically, they’re also among the most unreliable. That’s because the amount of their giving is determined not by their heart (or even by their bank account), but instead by what happens to be in their wallet on a given Sunday.

It’s $5.00 one week, a fistful of singles the next. They may dig deep for a $10.00 or a $20.00 on a special Sunday, but they’re just as likely to miss the offering completely the following week. (more…)
